Eigenspace event: what, what, and how to get started
We are excited to host our first in person event in Waterloo! In collaboration with uwstartups, we are co-hosting a fireside chat with successful founders and having the discussion lead by students. The chat will feature Nigel Stokes (an investor/mentor and co-founder at Eigenspace) and Hongwei Liu (MappedIn).
It will be a student led conversation about the nitty gritty of starting companies, raising money, hiring people plus me. An evening of personal stories from the trenches about what works and what doesn't. Come ask questions and participate.
Student to founder, or not. Finding a path to success.
There is something special about the University of Waterloo (sure we're biassed, we're alums after all). But there is magic in them there hills. Eigenspace brings together UWaterloo students and alumni around starting and funding new companies. We use a Venture Studio + Community + Investment approach. Focused on connecting the people who start emerging technology companies (you) and the people that fund them (alumni). It's about building meaningful relationships and experiences beyond that classroom and beyond the boardroom.

At Eigenspace, we’re focused on connecting the people who start emerging technology companies (you) and the people that fund them (alumni). It's about building meaningful relationships and experiences beyond that classroom and beyond the boardroom. We do this through a Venture Studio + Community + Investment fund model. Our goal is to help you discover a path that is different from taking a job, what and how might you start a big company? .
The first step is to join us on September 29. Applications are open, we’re accepting students for the venture manager/founder role.
Later this fall events include a Founders & Funders dinner, connecting students, alumni and funders from Waterloo, Toronto, NYC and SF.
